Its come to the realization I never thought would ever happen... I cant believe I'm writing this... Im going to have to sell Yoshida... financially it makes the most sense and since it looks like Im retired at this point :) and moving to Japan, with no smog setup on the car... forget about it... I'll probably drive her a few more months to the cafe... wow... I REALLY thought I would never sell her... I imagined just staring at her in the garage when I was too old to drive her... Oh well... I can just focus on my wetplate and SIM racing... life is crazy... I never got to finish the turbo upgrade with alcohol water injection...

Bled the clutch fluid yesterday... test drove car today... all good... Oil pressure gauge not working is really annoying especially because it was working when I took it to Scallys auto... fuckers... Useless redneck fucks...
Did a break fluid bleed a couple days ago... DOT 3 instead of DOT 4... apparently it absorbs less moisture but has a lower boiling point... Since I'm only driving early morning to the Café :) and no more track days in the near future, it seemed to be the best choice... Also tried a new technique ... used a small plastic drain bottle like normal but as soon as the tube was full I had Atsuko keep pumping while I just kept the nipple open. Had to stop every so often to make sure the reservoir didn't empty, but it was much faster then the loosen tighten each time method ... Doing for a drive in a couple hours... its 4:20 AM... could not go back asleep...
added this bottle to engine oil today... Also I fabricated a short shift tab that helps getting into 1st gear a little easier... Not perfect but totally livable... Ima soooo happy I was able to get Yoshida running good again... Looking forward to next café run...
drove car today... vacuum leak fixed a lot including the need to wait under 2,000 rpm to disengage gear so it doesn't idle high... That fuck'n Linh mechanic is worthless...  anyways... also no problems getting into gear... except for one new issue... 1st gear is a little hard to get into ???? replaced the 2nd shift cable to OEM, didnt fix the problem but Im happier having OEM then MR2 Heaven... also changed transmission fluid...
Did an oil change today... was only able to remove about 1.5 quarts from the pump... removed the rest with the drain plug... changed 5 quarts exactly... Also cleaned air filter with 409 and water... dried and sprayed with WD40...
Well its been FOREVER since I posted... Now in Florida... Im sure too much to mention happened last two years but here we are... Been noticing its harder to get into 3rd gear. Also car has been revving higher and higher to the point when I was in neutral it would rev all the way up... barley made it home... With a little research ended up finding a major rip in a hose exiting intercooler that was a cheap radiator hose... I replaced it with a proper hose $32 and solved that problem... during that fix I discovered one of the shifter cables was destroyed and most probably causing my 3rd gear shift issue... I finally resolved that issue and replaced cable two times... But now it doesn't come in contact with header and has plenty of heat shielding I will go for my first test drive this coming Tuesday... So basically Yoshida is a Tuesday Café racer :) LOVE this car...

Car fixed... Breaking in the clutch with normal city driving... The flywheel turned out to be aluminum so they were not able to re surface... Not ideal... but hopefully next year during engine swap, I'll just get another clutch and flywheel... Looks like the car has an oil leak bellow... not sure where its coming from, but if it can just hold out one more year :)
Metal flange holding in one spring broke...
Went out for my usual Sunday morning drive… Coming back home my clutch went out ??? Would not go into any gear… pedal felt strange pushing it in… any-hoot … lucky I was at an intersection will cellular service… Called AAA... Car back home safely…
not much going on.... still taking her out in the Angeles Forest drives... drives well... I bought a cherry picker and engine stand ... going to have Brant bring the engine over here... who knows how long it will be before I can afford the install.. ??? what if Brant has a heart attack and I have to convince his alcoholic dad who Ive never met that the engine is mine plus random other parts ... it would be a nightmare... anyways... in case I haven't already posted this link before: https://mr2wiki.com/domains/mr2wiki.com/AllModels/WorldwideProductionNumbers?fbclid=IwAR0wzArYAe9JaRrzoAXDlIiPpDjrpgOebMFUHBkh85hw20VJKcbjfenr5D0
Work has been truly shitty this year... This engine thing is definitely on hold... at least Yoshida still drives well... I don't remember if I posted but I was getting some seriously annoying rattles on the car... I started looking and was able to find about 8 things that were loose... got rid of a lot of rattles but the main new one was still there... I removed the undercarriage plastic protection plates and discovered that one of the motor mounts was coming loose... Yikes... tightened it up, and car is relatively rattle free... Also discovered a ripper hose from the supercharger, fixed that and cars acceleration is smoother... I attributed this loss of power to getting the straight pipe because I started noticing it a couple weeks after getting the exhaust done... That was not the problem... So anyways... I hope work picks up... soon...
Now that Brant is no longer working looks like he has started working on the engine again slowly... Looks amazing... No Idea how I'm going to afford to get this installed :)
Well, looks like things are on hold indefinitely ... work has slowed WAY down since Jan... Engine build on hold... looks like I need $10,000 to complete installation... On a up note... Car is driving great... went for a Angeles Forest run this morning and last weekend ... both great... no wet roads, traction was great... I hope work will pick up soon...
engine build continues...
